BlueModus Donates to Lake Erie Labrador Retriever Rescue

We love to celebrate our colleagues, and we love giving back to our community – so several years ago, BlueModus decided to combine these two loves. Each month, our Management Team selects two colleagues who shine and represent the values that make BlueModus a great place to work. These two colleagues select a charity, and BlueModus donates on their behalf.

This month, one of those colleagues is Colin Leslie. He is an incredibly talented technologist and, as a Solution Lead, is responsible for creating the technical vision and leading the implementation of client projects. Colin is an absolute pleasure to have on the team, and he works incredibly hard to ensure his team clients are successful.

Recently, BlueModus made a $500 donation to Lake Erie Labrador Retriever Rescue (LELRR) on behalf of Colin. LELRR is a non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to rescuing and re-homing homeless Labrador Retrievers. The dogs are placed in foster homes in response to requests from shelters. As a result, the dog can maintain or regain its confidence as a household pet. In addition, the dog will receive any medical care it requires while in foster care. Usually, this consists of spaying or neutering, updating vaccinations, testing for heartworms, and deworming. The organization also helps private owners find new homes for Labs by listing their dogs in their care. In addition, they educate the public about the Labrador Retriever breed.

“My wife and I started fostering dogs in 2019 and have worked with multiple area rescue groups, but there’s something special about Lake Erie Labs,” shares Colin. “The way they handle the dogs and the effort and care they put into making sure each dog ends up in the right situation for everyone involved is far and away the best we’ve seen. Unfortunately, labs and lab mixes often end up in bad situations because of the breed’s popularity, and Lake Erie Labs does everything in their power to help out every dog they possibly can.”
