BlueModus Donates to Horsepower Therapeutic Riding

BlueModus loves to celebrate our team, and we love giving back to the community - so several years ago, we decided to combine these two passions. Our Management Team selects two colleagues from the company each month who embody the values that make BlueModus a great place to work. BlueModus then donates to the charity chosen by the colleagues.

This month, one of those colleagues is Kate Kunert. She is a Senior Strategic Director who joined our team in September 2013. In her role, Kate works directly with our clients as a product owner, helping to craft solutions and business requirements that are handed off to our technical teams to implement. For her charity, Kate has selected Horsepower Therapeutic Riding for a donation.

“My sister volunteers for Horsepower Therapeutic Riding, founded by her friend Carrie Capes. The stories are inspiring. Though my sister has worked chiefly with kids, they help all ages. I like that they serve anyone with any special need, offering physical, emotional, cognitive, sensory, or social growth opportunities. In addition, while they offer ‘for pay’ lessons, they are entirely non-profit and offer scholarships for those who otherwise would not be able to take advantage of this form of therapy,” shared Kate. “My sister gave me a Horsepower sweatshirt, and I’ve been stopped a few times randomly by strangers that were excited to tell me how wonderful the program is!”

HorsePower was co-founded in 2012 to provide creative, inspiring, and challenging therapeutic horseback riding lessons to children and adults with disabilities. Physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges no longer need to stand in the way of those with special needs who dream about getting into the saddle and making a connection with a special horse. Instead, they strive to show their students the horse’s power to change them, inside and out!
