This past month, BlueModus colleagues from the Pacific Northwest came together in Seattle for a day of team bonding and fun activities.
BlueModus has seen steady growth over the past several years, which has included the hire of many remote employees throughout the United States. As a result, the company has kicked off an initiative this year to host a series of events, each based in a different region of the country, allowing colleagues who normally work from home offices the opportunity to connect with each other face-to-face. For this inaugural gathering, six employees based in the areas near Seattle and Portland, along with several Denver-based colleagues, met up to enjoy a full day of entertaining team activities.
The morning began with a scavenger hunt that took teams from the Space Needle to Pike Market. In addition to being a great team building experience, the hunt provided a chance for the non-locals in the group to get a tour of the city’s major sites. This was followed by a competitive afternoon game of Whirlyball (whirlyballseattle.com) a unique mix of lacrosse, bumper cars, and basketball.
Mike Wills, a Solution Lead based in Seattle noted how surprisingly valuable the event felt. “I already feel amazed at how connected I feel working remotely, but it reminded me how important we are to BlueModus — it's not just words. And it was great to relax and get to know our teammates outside of work.”
After this successful get-together, BlueModus team members are already looking forward to future events in other cities later this year, including meet-ups in Nashville, Austin, and Tampa.
