SCU is one of Manitoba's largest credit unions and among the top 10 in Canada – providing a wide range of products and services across their personal, business and agricultural members. As a leading financial institution in Canada, they needed a website that enabled their team to easily tell the brand story while delivering a unique experience to their different members. 

The biggest challenge SCU faced was easily making updates to frequently changing content (like rates) with a small marketing team. The previous site also struggled from a performance perspective, facing many challenges related to Core Web Vitals and overall speed. 

SCU has seen some very positive results since launching: 

  • Significant improvements in overall Performance, Core Web Vitals and Accessibility. The site currently hovers around 96 in Lighthouse (compared to a previous score of 44). It experienced a whopping 50% improvement in page download time. 
  • The redesign also drove some key experience improvements, with bounce improving by 84% for organic search traffic and 41% for direct traffic – indicating a much more engaged and targeted user base.
