BlueModus Donates to Reeve Foundation

As part of its ongoing program to give back to the community, BlueModus has donated $500 to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, a charity dedicated to curing spinal cord injury through funding innovative research, as well as improving the quality of life for people living with paralysis through grants, information, and advocacy.

The foundation sums up its mission into four words, “Today’s Care. Tomorrow’s Cure.” This reflects their dual purpose of providing quality care in the present, and accelerating scientific breakthroughs in neuroscience to work towards future cures for spinal cord injury. Their Paralysis Resource Center (PRC) offer a free, comprehensive, national source of informational support for people living with paralysis and their caregivers. Additionally, since 1982, the Reeve Foundation has awarded nearly $120 million to labs worldwide to support a vast range of research programs to speed the delivery of therapies and treatments for spinal cord injury.

Meredith Perkins Lehman, BlueModus Senior Project Manager, who selected this month’s charity, explains why it is particularly significant for her, “As a kid, I was directly affected by a spinal cord injury when my dad became a paraplegic. Our family was all very fortunate to have the support and resources for his treatments and adjustments to a new life. I’ve seen firsthand the benefits of an organization dedicated to advancing quality of life for spinal cord injuries, as well as working towards discovering a cure.”
