This month, as part of its ongoing campaign to give back to the community, BlueModus has made a $1,000 donation to the FDNY Foundation. As the official non-profit of the New York City Fire Department, the organization's mission is to promote fire and life safety education as well as help the FDNY better protect New York.
Founded in 1981, the FDNY Foundation funds a variety of programs, including maintaining operational excellence, providing outreach to the community through an array of fire and life safety programs, and ensuring that New York City firefighters and EMS personnel are able to have the best available training and equipment.
BlueModus Senior Project Manager Meghann Lord-Fenn, who selected this charity, shares what inspired her choice, “9/11 impacted me in many ways, as it did to all Americans. I remember that day when I was about to head to school, located in Norfolk, Virginia, just minutes from the world’s largest naval base, and the cloud that hung over our lives those first few days. But what I really continue to hang onto to this day is the feeling of unity, as the entire nation stood as one. As a way to show my gratitude to the firefighters that put themselves in harm’s way, and never looked back, I am humbled to choose the FDNY Foundation as this month’s give back charity. Thank you for your service.”
