As part of a continuing commitment to give back to the community, BlueModus has recently made a $500 donation to Direct Relief, a non-profit that works both within the United States and internationally to equip doctors and nurses with life-saving medicines and supplies needed to care for the world's most vulnerable people.
Since its founding in 1948 by refugee war immigrants to the U.S., Direct Relief has been providing assistance programs tailored to the particular circumstances and needs of the world's most vulnerable and at-risk populations. This tradition of direct and targeted assistance, provided in a manner that respects and involves the people served, has been a hallmark of the organization since its inception. As a humanitarian aid organization, they are active in all 50 states and more than 80 countries, working to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies – without regard to politics, religion, or ability to pay.
“Direct Relief is currently providing direct aid to Puerto Rico and Australia,” shares BlueModus Solution Lead Ryan Sappenfield, who selected this charity, “Having visited both places and had amazing experiences with the local residents, culture, and landscape, I greatly appreciate BlueModus donating to relief efforts on behalf of our team.”
In addition to disaster relief in Australia, where Direct Relief is working with a range of Australian agencies and organizations to deliver N-95 masks, Direct Relief is also currently responding to the coronavirus outbreak, through a coordinated effort with public health authorities in China and in the U.S. to provide personal protective equipment to health care workers in regions where there are confirmed cases of the disease.
